Amid the intensifying heat, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will reinstate the 30-minute heat stroke break for their on-field personnel. Traffic enforcers are happy with the agency's 30-minute heat stroke break policy.
In the work of traffic enforcers, it is inevitable that they will not be swelter, according to the MMDA, the said policy begins to be implemented today March 15 and will last until the end of May.
In addition, their breaktime can be increased by 15 minutes when the heat index in Metro Manila rises to 40C.
There are days that it was so hot that the MMDA personnel were taking blood pressure of the rotating health personnel of the MMDA one after the other. The MMDA also distributes water frequently to their enforcers.
Drinking and monitoring stations have also been laid in seven locations in Metro Manila. It can also be used by passing motorists.
EDSA- Timog Ave., EDSA- Roxas Blvd., EDSA- Ortigas Ave., EDSA- Quezon Ave., EDSA- Oliveros Commonwealth Ave., and C5 Road (Ortigas Ave.).
