Three weather systems will continue to affect the Philippines bringing warm, humid weather to some areas and isolated rains and thunderstorms according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
In a morning weathercast, the state weather bureau said the Bicol Region, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms brought by the shear line.
Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi will be affected by the easterlies that will cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. “The eastern section of Visayas at Mindanao will also experience overcast skies with scattered rain showers due to the easterlies.”
The northeast monsoon, locally termed amihan will prevail over the Cordillera Administrative Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley, which will have cloudy skies with rains.
Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, and the rest of Central Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains triggered by amihan.
The easterlies are the winds coming from the east and passing through the Pacific Ocean that carry warm and humid weather; the isolated rains are caused by the northeast monsoon or "amihan," a combination of cold, dry air and strong northeasterly winds that blow from the east; and the shear line is the convergence of hot and cold air.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies. PAGASA said no low pressure areas are being monitored for tropical cyclone formation.
Also, for Thursday, Pagasa raised a gale warning over the seaboards of Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan due to the shear line. “So, we are advising our countrymen that it’s dangerous to go sailing on these seaboards.”
