Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr. ordered that the agency allows the use of the remaining official receipt until it is fully consumed instead of until only December 31, 2024.
"All remaining Official Receipts can be used, until fully consumed. Inventory reports and notices can be submitted through email. The BIR is committed to making the transition to EOPT as convenient to taxpayers as possible. Comments and suggestions on the different services provided by the BIR and its implementation of the EOPT are welcome," Lumagui Jr. said.
The Revenue Regulation (RR) 11-2024 and Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 66-2024 was amended, which gives an extension to tax payers who can only use converted invoices or billion invoices until the end of the year. Inventory reports and notices can now also be sent by email.
According to the agency, it aims to make the transition of the BIR system of the Ease of Paying Taxes Act (EOPT) easier for tax payers.
"Due to the release of revenue regulations 11-2024, there is no longer a grace period, but until the official receipts that have been printed run out, it just needs to be converted into an invoice,” he added.
The BIR stated that it has been attempting to harmonize its many rules, systems, and procedures within its mandate with the new law since EOPT was passed into law.
