A vintage bomb was accidentally discovered on a road near the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 in Pasay City on Thursday on a road widening project.
The bomb which was believed to be American-made and used during World War II but did not explode was discovered by workers of the NAIA Infra Corp. Inc. working on the road widening along MIA Road.
Road widening operations along MIA Road near NAIA terminal 2 were temporarily halted after the large vintage bomb was unearthed.
Police said the bomb could still explode. Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) experts safely transport the 54-inch-long, 63-inch-round World War II-era bomb to the Philippine National Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit for analysis and proper disposal.
The bomb will be studied at the EOD headquarters in Pasay before being moved to Tarlac for final disposal.
Members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Aviation Security EOD and Canine Unit (AVSECU) load the vintage bomb onto a police patrol vehicle after it was discovered.
