THOUSAND INDIVIDUALS AFFECTED BY AGHON; P21M DAMAGE ON AGRICULTURE

The weather state bureau has forecasted that the typhoon Aghon has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday. Leaving damages in the country that affected the lives of individuals especially in the agriculture sector.
More than 51,659 residents have been affected by typhoon Aghon, based on the records of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), 21,225 have been evacuated while 14,816 remain in nearly 200 evacuation centers.
Seven died according to the NDRRMC and eight were reported injured. Almost 30 towns are still without electricity and more than 100 places have suspended classes.
Typhoon Aghon caused nearly P23 million worth of damage to the agricultural sector, according to the Department of Agriculture's report, most of the affected areas are from Calabarzon.
369 farmers and fisherfolks were affected by Aghon, that also damaged crops on 292.9 hectares, as well as livestock, poultry, and fisheries worth P448,300.
The DSWD has started distributing financial aid to the typhoon victims and has distributed thousands of food packs to the victims.
