At Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila, supporters of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) gathered and shouted the call for President Bongbong Marcos to step down from his position. They are blaming President Marcos for the inhumane entering at the KOJC compound in Davao to serve the arrest warrant on Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
In front of KOJC compound in Davao City, members and supporters of KOJC dispersed that caused growing tension that lead to violence as KOJC followers pushed and threw monobloc chairs at the police. Others also allegedly blocked the national highway with vehicles causing traffic obstructing both sides of the road.
At least seven police officers were injured according to the Philippine National Police (PNP) that sustained head injuries, nose bridge bleeding, bruises, and a left knee injury. The police have arrested 18 of the KOJC members and will file complaints of obstruction of justice and for hurting six cops while they were looking for Quiboloy in the compound.
The PNP also has evidence showing that the members have a place there where members themselves injure fellow members to show and blame the police where their injuries came from. “But on the contrary, our police are the ones who curse, trample, hurt and all kinds of things are received by our police.”
Until now, the police have not caught Quiboloy in the 30-hectare KOJC compound in Davao City who is facing charges of abuse and human trafficking. The PNP started the search on the compound on August 24 (Saturday) and indicating that there could be a hidden bunker underground the compund.
According to PNP Davao Region Spokesperson PMAJ Catherine Dela Rey, “Ang hinahanap na lang talaga natin is yung entrance ng bunker, kasi positive talaga yung sa Life Detection Device na ginamit natin na meron talagang heartbeat sa underground. Hindi lamang isang heartbeat ang nadetect.”
“Very positive yung information na nareceive namin na nasa loob talaga ng KOJC compound si Quiboloy at yung mga kasama nya,” it added.
