Carlos got good marks in various tools such as rings, vault, and parallel bars. But in the pommel horse routine, Yulo lost his balance, which had a big impact on his campaign for the medal. Yulo recorded a total score of 83.032 for the 12th placed finish.
Despite the failure in the all-around, Yulo has two more chances to win a medal in the upcoming floor exercise and vault finals. The floor finals will be held on August 3 while the vault final will be held on August 4.
Carlo Paalam displayed an aggressive offense in his match against Ireland for the Men's 57-kilogram Division. In the end, Pinoy pride from Bukidnon won via unanimous decision. And he will advance to the quarter finals where he will face Australia.
Filipina boxer Aira Villegas celebrated her 29th birthday in the Paris Olympics with the best gift as she advanced to the women’s 50kg quarterfinals after defeating Algeria this Friday. Reaching the semifinals will not come easy for Villegas as she faces a challenging opponent in Lkhadiri.
