SEVERAL ROAD ACCIDENTS; SOON TO BE BRIDE AND SIX OTHERS KILLED

This weekend may not be good for the families left behind by the victims of tragic incidents in different areas of the country. A soon-to-be bride was killed when the motorcycle she was riding got hit by another motorcycle.

According to the authorities, the incident happened at the intersection along Pedro Gil Street in Barangay 876 in Sta. Anna Manila. The barangay councilor said that they heard a loud crash, and when they checked for it, two motorcycles collided, and the woman was thrown off the motorcycle. While the driver of the motorcycle which was her husband, rolled several meters on the road.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival, while two others suffered injuries. The victims were supposed to get married in September. The suspect is under custody and facing charges of reckless driving resulting in homicide.

Meanwhile, in regional road accidents, around 30 individuals were on board a truck when the driver reportedly lost control when the brakes malfunctioned in Talaingod Davao del Norte. Five people lost their lives and others were injured after the incident. The truck driver may face possible charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and multiple physical injuries.

In the province of Cebu in Barili, a pickup truck carrying cement crashed into a bank, causing six people to suffer severe injuries. According to the Barili Police Station investigation, the driver lost his break and hit first a tricycle with five passengers ages 17 to 18. Others parked outside the bank were also hit by the truck.

In Barangay Poblacion Taytay Palawan on Saturday, a multicab type vehicle collided with a motorcycle resulted in the death of a woman and wounds to others involved in the accident along the national highway. 

According to preliminary investigation, the multicab was navigating a left turn in the road when the motorcycle, who was driving in the other way, crossed the lane and struck the multicab head-on.
