Landslides and floods hit several regions in the country due to heavy rains brought by the shearline, where a total of five individuals were killed while several wee left injured. The state weather bureau PAGASA earlier said that parts of the country were experiencing rains due to shearline - an area where cold and warm air meet.

In Camarines Sur, a 39-year-old man drowned on Saturday afternoon after he tried to retrieve his jacket while crossing the PNR Binahan Bridge in Ragay town, his body was recovered on Monday morning.

While in Cabusao town, two senior citizens were swept away by strong currents on Sunday morning while crossing an overflowing spillway. Authorities said that the bodies were found within four hours of each other on Monday morning and at least 50 meters away from the Biong Spillway.

Cabusao Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management reported that the victim’s vehicle turned left because of the strong current then they fell on the road. Two other individuals who were swept away managed to save themselves and were recovering.

In Barangay Anameam in Labo Camarines Norte, one individulas was reported dead after the victim and his wife were buried in the landslide. They were brought to a hospital for treatment but the male victim was declared dead on arrival.

A woman was also killed after being trapped by a collapsed wall in Cebu City following strong rains. The was with her husband, when a nearby stone wall collapsed on their house made of light materials.

According to the Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, the wall’s foundation probably softened due to the heavy and continuous rains. Responders took around five hours to rescue the husband who survived the incident, and another two hours to extricate the wife who was rushed to a hospital where she died.

Residents on flooded and affected areas the country evacuate from their houses due to floods, and some were rescued amid the rising flood. Landslides and rockslides were also reported, clearing operations have been conducted.
