Despite the hot weather, some areas in the country experienced rain that was accompanied by hailstorms or falling ice. Along with the rainfall in Bauko Mt. Province small ice grains also fell from the sky.
The area experienced a hailstorm. The rain also brought temporary relief in the middle of summer in Solana Cagayan, residents saw ice along with the rain.
Last week the same thing happened in Tarlac, with the heavy rain almost zero visibility on the highway which was accompanied by a hailstorm. Some motorists had to take shelter first because of the falling ice.
Even some areas in North Cotabato experienced a hailstorm, the size of corn grains fell.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) explains that hailstorm occurs whenever there is a thunderstorm.
"A hailstorm really happens when the weather is very hot and evaporation is high, and clouds form due to condensation, and the clouds suddenly fall. When it falls to the ground, it has not totally evaporated or melted, so it falls like ice," PAGASA stated.
PAGASA reminds the public, take shelter first when your area experiences a hailstorm.
The farmers in Aurora were happy with the rainfall, in relief to the scorching heat, due to the hot weather the withered crops and rice fields were also watered.
