PHIVOLCS EARTHQUAKE ALERT; PAGASA WEATHER UPDATE

On Thursday June 13, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that a magnitude 4.3 earthquake struck Cagayan while magnitude 4.2 hit the watersoff Coron Palawan.
At 9:48 in the morning, a tectonic quake was located east of Dalupiri Island in Cagayan with its depth of focus at 15 kilometers according to the state seismologist. While 3 o’clock in the afternoon, the Phivolcs recorded a magnitude 4.2 earthquake in Coron, Palawan. The earthquakes are not expected to cause any damage or aftershocks.
Meanwhile, on the weather report, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) forecasted that monsoon break is continues and more than 30 areas in the country are expected to experience dangerous heat index level. Virac, Catanduanes will experience the highest heat index with 47°C followed by 46°C in Catarman, Northern Samar.
In Pasay Metro Manila, at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport it is expected to record a heat index of 44°C and in Science Garden station in Quezon City 42°C is forecasted.
On their thunderstorm advisory, a rainy afternoon are expected in Metro Manila, Bataan, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal, Batangas, and Quezon with moderate to heavy rains with lightning and strong winds. As well as in Cavite, Zambales and Pampanga that could affect nearby areas.
