PHILIPPINES JOINING IN EARTH HOUR 2024
Starting at 8:30 p.m., millions of people worldwide are banding together to turn off non-essential lights for an hour, in an effort to show their solidarity and dedication to the cause of environmental restoration and protection.
The Department of Energy encourages everyone to join Earth hour Philippines 2024 tonight at eight o'clock in the evening. It is only necessary to turn off appliances and non-essential lights who want to participate in such activity for 60 minutes or one hour for mother nature.

In 2024, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will participate in the global Earth Hour celebration under the local theme, "Switch Off Plastic Pollution, Switch On Nature," in partnership with the World-Wide Fund for Nature – Philippines (WWF Philippines).
Earth Hour 2024 asks people, groups, and companies worldwide to turn down their lights for one hour on March 23, 2024, at 8:30 p.m. (Philippine Time), and dedicate that time to doing good deeds for the planet.
The Department of Health will also take part in the activity, the Health Department committed that its personnel will participate in the effort to surpass the record set by over 190 nations and territories in 2017 when they reduced their electricity use by 410,000 hours in total.
Earth hour is held every year around the world as a symbolic action to raise awareness about the threat of climate change.
In Aklan, the provincial government calls on the municipalities in the province, even the private sector and all of Aklan to join in the Earth Hour that will be held today, March 23, 2024.
In participating in such Earth Hour, the Provincial Government of Aklan encourages everyone to first turn off non-essential electric lights and other electrical devices for one hour.
This is in solidarity with the activity that aims to save electricity, reduce carbon emissions, and alleviate global warming. Earth Hour is held annually around the world with the goal of protecting planet earth.
