Philippine delegate Jasmin Bungay finished as the 2nd runner-up during Miss Globe 2024’s coronation night at the Tirana Olympic Park in Albania. Colombia's candidate Diana Moreno won the crown, beating 42 beauty queens at the competition. First runner up was Thailand's beauty queen Prada Thansita Dilhokanansakul.
During the Q&A portion, Bungay was asked to give her thoughts on how to keep real connections and show empathy as technology changed quickly.
"I believe that with the advancement of technology and the abuse that is prevalent now in the technological world, I believe to be emphatic is to live in the moment, to make sure that every moment is treasured not on the screen but in real life 'cause only when we have real connections, only when we connect with each other, face-to-face, physically then we can feel each other and then we can experience to fullness of life."
Jasmin won the Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2024 crown in July. She advocates for the empowerment of overseas Filipino workers and the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. She worked in a logistics firm in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates for five years before flying back home to pursue her dream of becoming a Bb. Pilipinas queen.
The national organization Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI) greet the Kapampangan on its social media page, “Congratulations on bringing home The Miss Globe 2024 2nd Runner-up crown, Jasmin Bungay! You have continually inspired us with your hard work and dedication throughout your The Miss Globe journey. Your BPCI family and the Philippines will always be proud of you!”
