PHILIPPINE ADAPTATION OF K-DRAMA, IT’S OKAY NOT TO BE OKAY

One of the most watched Korean dramas “It’s Okay Not to Be Okay” on 2021 starring Seo Yea-ji, Kim Soo-hyun, and Oh Jung-se will have its Philippine adaptation leading Anne Curtis, Joshua Garcia, and Carlo Aquino.
Anne will portray Emilia "Mia" Hernandez, a character inspired by Moon-young in the K-drama, while Joshua and Carlo will portray brothers Patrick and Matthew (PatPat and MatMat) Gonzales in the Philippine adaptation. These characters are inspired by the characters Moon Gang-tae and Moon Sang-Tae.
In collaboration of ABS-CBN and Netflix, the 16-episode K-drama will be watched soon on Philippine Teleserye. Anne Curtis is excited for this project since she really wanted the role the moment, she watched the drama.
Anne on portraying her character, “My character has an antisocial personality disorder and you will see me portraying her with utmost care. I hope this series will break the stigma and raise awareness,” she said.
“I love her journey of growth. You see it from the beginning of the episode until the end. You see how she dresses, how she changes her hair, how she speaks and controls her emotions, and how she goes through the process even her outbursts. I can see myself,” she added.
Joshua Garcia admitted that he feels pressured for the upcoming new project and will take chemistry workshops with Anne. While Carlo said that establishing chemistry with Anne would not be a problem since they have worked together before.
The official announcement was launch on May 17 that will be directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar, Filipino illustrators will also be sourced in bringing the show’s illustrations to life which played a huge part in the original series. It is said to take place in Negros, and more details about the series are yet to be announced.
This will be another collaboration for ABS-CBN and Netflix after its success on “Can't Buy Me Love.”
