PHILHEALTH MEMBERS, FREE MAMMOGRAM & ULTRASOUND

To help women in the early detection of breast cancer prevention, the Philipppine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) will provide free mammogram and ultrasound to women.

PhilHealth members, starting in the month of July 2024, there is a free mammogram and ultrasound screening for women every year. This is part of the expansion of primary care benefits under the agency’s ‘KonsulTayo’ package.

According to Department of Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa, this is based on the directives of President Marcos so he instructed the PhilHealth benefits committee to include other services in the ‘KonsulTayo’ package.

It will help to ensure continuous funding for preventive healthcare services and it will help in the early detection of cancer and other diseases. This coming July, PhilHealth promised that mammogram and ultrasound screening will be free in more than 2,000 accredited hospitals nationwide.

PhilHealth members just needed to go to accredited hospitals nationwide with a doctor’s recommendation for screening and it’s free.
