Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) is adding more flights to its Clark-Busuanga route beginning March, and also launched flight services between Manila and Cauayan City in Isabela province.
The airline said that “PAL’s expanded Clark-Busuanga and Busuanga-Clark services will increase the current four weekly flights to seven, in response to the growing demand for leisure travel to Northern Palawan.”
Busuanga in Northern Palawan, is the gateway to the popular resort town of Coron, which is famous for its beaches, coral reefs, and limestone island cliffs which are frequented by scuba divers and snorkelers.
The upgrade to daily flights for the route will help make fares more affordable and travel more convenient for both foreign and domestic tourists, in time for the summer travel season said PAL Express President Rabbi Vincent Ang.
With the additional daily Clark-Busuanga service, PAL will have a total of 42 weekly flights to Busuanga as the flag carrier flies three times daily between Manila and Busuanga, as well as twice daily between Cebu and Busuanga.
Furthermore, the airline also announced that it officially opened its daily Manila-Cauayan-Manila flight service on January 15. The new route was launched “amid strong clamor from residents of Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino provinces for increased air access to Manila.”
"Establishing a new gateway is vital to meet the growing demand for air connectivity. The opening of the Manila – Cauayan service expands our domestic route network and, more importantly, provides that sought-after air connectivity for residents of the province of Isabela, cutting travel time to Manila to a mere one hour from the current 10-hour land travel," said PAL president and COO Stanley Ng.
The flag carrier has been expanding its domestic and international routes. PAL has said that it may buy a hundred new aircraft as travel demand is expected to rise further.
