PAGASA: EASTERLIES AFFECT EASTERN PARTS OF PH, 2 TO 3 TYPHOONS EXPECTED IN JULY

Eastern portions of Luzon and Visayas are expected to experience cloudy skies and rain showers due to easterlies or the warm winds from the Pacific according to the stater weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In Metro Manila and the rest of the country, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms is expected due to localized thunderstorms.
Cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will be expected in Bicol Region, Aurora and Quezon due to the easterlies. Flashfloods or landslide may result during severe thunderstorms.
While in South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and Davao Occidental, due to an Intertropical Convergence Zone, cloudy skies with moderate scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experience that may possibly result in landslides or flashfloods.
Pagasa also announced that at least two to three typhoons are expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) for the month of July amid the threat of a La Niña weather event.
"What we expect, since we are in neutral condition, is that two or three typhoons are expected to enter June. The same in the months of August, September and October. In November and December, we expect one to two typhoons,” Pagasa Weather Specialist Glaiza Escullar said.
