P6.352 TRILLION 2025 NATIONAL BUDGET, PBBM APPROVED
The Malacañang has announced that the Marcos administration has proposed P6.352-trillion National Expenditure Program (NEP) for year 2025 supporting the key pillars of the administration's Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023-2028, which President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. approved.
The current year’s national budget is P5.768 trillion, so the proposal of the Department of Budget and Management’s (DBM) Fiscal Year 2025 NEP is 10.1% higher.

According to the Presidential Communications office, the proposed budget based on President Marcos’ directives and policy guidance, “the government will prioritize food security, social protection, healthcare, housing, disaster resilience, infrastructure, digital connectivity, and energization.”
“SUCs, CHED, TESDA), public works (DPWH), health (includes PhilHealth), interior and local government (DILG), and defense (DND). Also among the government top priorities are social welfare, (DSWD), agriculture (DA) and attached corporations; Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR); Department of Transportation (DOTr), the judiciary, and justice,” PCO added.
The PDP 2023–2028's Pillar 1 addresses the development and protection of people's and families' capabilities. Along with reducing vulnerabilities and protecting people's purchasing power, it also targets the promotion of social and human development.
The government intends to transform the country's sectors' production in order to produce more competitive goods and high-quality jobs under Pillar 2. This include bringing agribusiness and agriculture up to date, revitalizing the sector, and stimulating services.
While the Pillar 3 focuses on establishing a supportive bureaucratic environment. It involves implementing good governance into practice, increasing bureaucratic efficiency, ensuring macroeconomic stability, expanding inclusive and innovative finance, ensuring peace and security, and enhancing the administration of justice.
This also include expanding and upgrading infrastructure, accelerating climate action and strengthening disaster resilience.
