P17.9 BILLION CONTRACT SIGNED TO MIRU SYSTEMS INC., 2025 AUTOMATED ELECTIONS

The Commission on Elections formally awarded the P17.9 billion contract to the South Korean firm Miru Systems Inc. as the technology provider of automated elections in the 2025 elections.
Under the contract, Miru will supply the hardware, software, and election management system including vote counting and ballot printing. Comelec Chairman George Garcia assured that transparency in the election results is a priority that is expected to be achieved through the company’s promised technology.

Comelec Chairman Garcia strongly warned Miru System Inc. to ensure that transparency is achieved in the conduct of automated election system. During the contract signing, Garcia warned the South Korean company against politicians and parties that may take advantage and attempt to rig the election.
Miru assured that they will continue to communicate with the Comelec for the successful conduct of the 2025 elections.
Under the automated election system law, life imprisonment will be the punishment for officials when there is an irregularity in the election results.
The company promised to be alert and vigilant to the said warnings. Miru System also defended against accusations of their service after being involved in election issues in other countries. The Miru System has six months for the manufacturing and customization of more than one hundred thousand vote counting machines and after this there are two months to wait for the international certification and stores code review before it is taught to the VCM election administrators.
