ONE MONTH SUSPENSION FOR E-VEHICLES VIOLATORS, MARCOS STATED
President Marcos Jr. ordered the MMDA and local governments to hold arresting, ticketing, fine, and impounding e-bikes, tricycles, pedicabs, and other similar vehicles within one month. The President said enough time is needed to inform the public of the said policy.

In the few days that the law was implemented, the number of violators caught has increased, in Baclaran and Macapagal Boulevards on Thursday, more than 20 e-trikes were impounded. According to the MMDA, they are only enforcing the said policy for the safety of pedestrians and motorists.
"We're already talking about this for how many months already, the guidelines have been out on social media and even on mainstream media. So, it's their responsibility to find out," MMDA OIC Head Gabriel Co stated.
A list of nearly two dozen roadways where e-bikes, e-trikes, tricycles, pedicabs, pushcarts, and kuligligs are forbidden starting in April can be found in MMDA Regulation No. 24-022, which was published in February.
The resolution, according to the MMDA, aims to establish more specific guidelines on the impacted vehicles, which are purportedly “a common cause of traffic and road crash incidents.”
The President stated, "I watch them on the news, it's really pitiful. We should give them a chance so they know what the new rules are, how they can adjust. The fine is P2,500, which is very heavy for them. So, let's give them a month so they know what they should do."
Within a one-month grace period, there will be no issuance of tickets, fines and impounding of said vehicle. Instead, drivers will first be shown the alternative roads they can take. The rules will also be reminded first to ensure the safety and order of the streets.
