The President inspected the drying fields of the province, he also led the distribution of agricultural equipment to farmers and the assistance of various government agencies to the 2,000 residents.
The President sees a solution to the fear of the residents regarding the entry of imported onions that may affect the main livelihood of the province.
"When we have cold storage, there is no need to sell immediately, no matter what the demand is, the price for the consumer is the same even in the rainy season," said President Marcos.
Local officials also brought to light the high electricity bill of P20 per KWH compared to P12 KWH in Metro Manila. According to the President, emergency power supply is used in the province, so it is expensive, but there are cable connections.
According to the President, the government is studying other long-term solutions to increase the supply of electricity throughout the country.
Agriculture Price
Meanwhile, according to an agricultural group, there should be no increase in the price of rice and other food based on the Farm Gate Price. The leadership of the House of Representatives assured that the laws related to the agricultural sector will be reviewed to address the food price issue.
The leadership of the chamber met with groups in the agricultural sector and the Association of Supermarkets amid fears that the price of food will increase due to the high price of petroleum products.
According to the agriculture association, there has been no movement in the farm gate prices of rice, rice, onions, chicken, and pork for three to four months, so their prices should not increase in the markets.
