NAIA: OVER 1 MILLION PASSENGERS THIS HOLY WEEK

The number of passengers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is gradually increasing and the weight of the traffic flow outside the airport is already felt. According to the Manila International Authority (MIA), the bulk of passengers is expected on Wednesday, March 27.
They are said to be ready for the expected influx of travelers within and outside the country for Holy Week.

"We're anticipating above 1 million passengers. Of course we will be manning these oplan help desks of ours. So definitely per terminal there is a key official so that we can fix our processes. Our protocols as much as possible, we want to have fast queuing so there are no long lines this Holy Week", Spokesperson of MIA Atty. Chris Bendijo stated.
Meanwhile, MIA is removing the gang chairs or the chairs in the arrival area of NAIA Terminal 3 after Holy Week. Following the complaint that it is now being used as a sleeping place by those who hang around at the airport.
Passengers are also increasing at the ports, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Spokesperson Rear Armando Balilo said that 60% of their personnel will be deployed during Holy Week.
Aside from the sea marshals that will accompany the traveling ships, the PCG will also deploy sea board patrols to provide immediate assistance in case the ships need help while in the middle of the ocean.
The PCG will also be joined by the personnel of the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) in guarding the ports and the ship's trips.
