MMDA SUSPENDED NUMBER CODING SCHEME FOR HOLIDAYS

The number coding scheme will be suspended tomorrow on Tuesday and Wednesday, this is because April 9 Tuesday has been declared an official holiday to commemorate the Day of Valor or “Araw ng Kagitingan” and April 10 Wednesday to observe Eid’l Fitr or the end of Ramadhan, according to Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
Holiday advisory, the Pasig River ferry service will not operate for two days on Tuesday and Wednesday, the operation will continue on Thursday.
"Vehicles are prohibited from traveling on the streets of Metro Manila based on the last digit of their license plates during the designated coding hours," according to the MMDA's previous statement of the number coding.
It stated that the coding applied to plates ending in 1 and 2 on Mondays, 3 and 4 on Tuesdays, 5 and 6 on Wednesdays, 7 and 8 on Thursdays, and 9 and on Fridays.
The following are excluded from the number coding, according to the MMDA: Public utility vehicles (including tricycles), Transport network vehicle services (TNVS), Motorcycles, Garbage trucks, Marked government vehicles, Fuel trucks, Marked media vehicles, Fire trucks, Ambulances, and Motor vehicles carrying perishable and/or essential goods.
The number coding rule is usually put into effect at 7 a.m. up until 10 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. up until 8 p.m. except on weekends and holidays, during the week.
