A motorist's dashcam captured a red vehicle that dragged an enforcer while speeding. According to the investigation, the driver of the vehicle involved in a traffic accident and attempting to escape apprehension in Taguig City.

It is said that the vehicle collided with a motorcycle so it was blocked by the traffic enforcer of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). According to the motorcycle rider involved in the accident, he signaled the enforcer to let him know what happened. So the enforcer approached the red car and told the driver to pull over.

The defense of the driver of the vehicle is that he had no intention of harming the enforcer or running away, but he was the one who was hit by the motorcycle, which broke its side mirror. "Actually, it was the motorcycle that hit me. He's in the middle and I can't see him. Someone was breaking behind my car as if it wanted to break the car. I panicked, I rushed, I didn't notice that the MMDA was hanging."

Despite the explanation and apology, MMDA Acting Chairman Romando Artes said that the MMDA is determined to file a case of attempted homicide against the driver of the red car. "The life of our enforcer is in danger. Imagine if he fell there and hit his head or was run over by another car, it could even result in his accident or death."

"We don't find his excuse acceptable. In fact, there was intent to kill if you drop the person in the hood, you zigzag, you brake. So, despite him coming here and asking for forgiveness, we'll make sure the cases will be filed. Let him face it in court," said Artes.

On top of the possible administrative and criminal cases the MMDA will file against the driver, the MMDA approached the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to give the driver the appropriate punishment seeking to have his driver’s license suspended or revoked.

The driver’s attempt to escape during the incident, he said, showed that he was “undeserving of his driving privilege and as such, should be stripped or suspended thereof until he can show worthiness thereto once again.”
