MMDA LIFTED NUMBER CODING; PALACE SUSPENDS WORK AND CLASSES ON TUESDAY

Government work and classes in public and private schools in all levels in the National Capital Region (NCR) were suspended on Tuesday, September 3 announced by the Malacañang due to inclement weather caused by Tropical Storm Enteng (international name: Yagi) and the southwest monsoon.
Under Memorandum Circular No. 63 it states that, “In view of the continuous rainfall brought by the Southwest Monsoon and Tropical Storm ‘Enteng’, and to ensure the safety of the general public, work in government offices and classes at all levels in the National Capital Region and Region IV-A (Calabarzon) are hereby suspended on 03 September 2024.”

Operations and necessary services of agencies that involves the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue.
“The suspension of work for private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads,” it added.
Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) also announced the suspension of the implementation of the expanded number coding scheme on September 03 after the Palace announcement of suspended classes and work.
“The implementation of Expanded Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program or UVVRP is suspended tomorrow, SEPTEMBER 3, Tuesday, following the announcement of Malacañang that classes and work in government offices in National Capital Region, or NCR, and Region IV are suspended due to the rain brought by Tropical Storm Enteng and southwest monsoon,” MMDA stated.
According to Pagasa, Tropical Storm “Enteng” continues to move West Northwestward over the West Philippine Sea. The center of Tropical Storm ENTENG was estimated based on all available data over the coastal waters of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte (18.2 °N, 120.1 °E).
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal no.2 is raised on the areas of Ilocos Norte, the northern portion of Ilocos Sur (Sinait, Cabugao, San Juan, Magsingal, Santo Domingo, San Ildefonso, San Vicente, Santa Catalina, City of Vigan, Bantay, Santa, Caoayan), Apayao, Abra, the northern and western portions of Kalinga (Balbalan, Pinukpuk, Lubuagan, Pasil), and the western portion of Mainland Cagayan (Piat, Santo Nino, Camalaniugan, Tuao, Pamplona, Rizal, Claveria, Lasam, Aparri, Ballesteros, Abulug, Allacapan, Sanchez-Mira, Santa Praxedes) including Babuyan Islands (Dalupiri Is. and Fuga Is.).
Areas under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal no.1 were the rest of Ilocos Sur, the northern portion of La Union (Luna, Santol, San Juan, Bagulin, Bangar, San Gabriel, Bacnotan, Sudipen, Balaoan, City of San Fernando), the rest of Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, the northern portion of Benguet (Mankayan, Kapangan, Atok, Kabayan, Kibungan, Bakun, Buguias), Batanes, the rest of Mainland Cagayan, the rest of Babuyan Islands, the northern and western portions of Isabela (Divilacan, Santo Tomas, Alicia, San Mateo, Aurora, Santa Maria, Quezon, Ramon, Naguilian, Roxas, Luna, Delfin Albano, City of Cauayan, San Pablo, Ilagan City, Angadanan, Benito Soliven, City of Santiago, Tumauini, Cabagan, Reina Mercedes, San Manuel, Cabatuan, Quirino, Gamu, San Isidro, Mallig, Cordon, Maconacon, Burgos), and the northern portion of Nueva Vizcaya (Ambaguio, Bagabag, Villaverde, Diadi, Solano).
Yellow warning level is placed on Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Metro Manila, Bulacan and Cavite with associated hazard of possible flooding in flood-prone areas. Meanwhile, light to moderate with occasional heavy rains affecting Nueva Ecija, Rizal, Laguna, Batangas and Quezon which may persist within 3 hours.
