The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah Pangandaman announce that the government and civilian workers will receive their mid-year bonuses starting May 15 this year. The bonus will be equivalent to a civil servant’s one-month basic salary.

“I am pleased to announce that our civil servants will receive their mid-year bonus this year. We know that this is eagerly awaited by our fellow government employees and will significantly assist them in meeting their daily needs,” Pangandaman said on Tuesday.

“As always, we remind all government agencies and offices to ensure the prompt and timely release of bonuses to their employees, in accordance with our existing rules and regulations. This will begin on May 15,” she added.

All civilian staff members, including contract, temporary, and regular workers, are eligible for the midyear bonus. This covers full- and part-time appointive or elective roles in the following branches and organizations of government: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches; Constitutional Commissions and other Constitutional Offices; State Universities and Colleges (SUCs); Government-Owned or -Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) covered by the Compensation and Position Classification System (CPCS); and local government units (LGUs).

Military and uniformed personnel are also included, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, Philippine Public Safety College, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Bureau of Corrections, Philippine Coast Guard, and National Mapping and Resource Information Authority.

In the meantime, DBM Budget Circular No. 2017-2 states that concerned local government boards shall allocate funds for the midyear bonus of employees in provinces, cities, municipalities, and barangays, subject to policy circumstances.

Eligible personnel that worked at least four months from July 1, 2023, to May 15, 2024 to whom it is given to the DBM said and must still employed in the government as of May 15.
