MARCOS DECLARES NON-WORKING HOLIDAYS IN FIVE AREAS FOR OCTOBER

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has issued proclamations, declaring special non-working days in five localities in the country, according to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).
The holiday declarations for the month of October were signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
Under Proclamation No. 693, a special non-working day is declared in Infanta, Pangasinan on October 4 (Friday) to mark its 148th Founding anniversary.
Likewise, the President also issued Proclamation No. 694 for Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur, a nonworking holiday in celebration of its 67th Founding Anniversary on October 16 (Wednesday) , and Proclamation No. 695 for Negros Oriental in observance of the Buglasan Festival on October 25 (Friday).
Proclamation No. 696 also declared Oct. 26 a special nonworking day in Angeles City, Pampanga, for its Tigtigan Terakan Keng Dalan Festival, which commemorates the city’s recovery from the Mt. Pinatubo eruption in June 1991.
Proclamation No. 697 was also issued by the President declaring Oct. 28 as a special nonworking day in Dingle, Iloilo. According to Marcos, it is fitting for the people of Dingle to commemorate the Cry of Lincud, the first declaration of revolution against Spain in the province of Iloilo and the island of Panay.
