HOT WEATHER CONTINUES NATIONWIDE ACCORDING TO PAGASA
April 15 Monday, hot weather to prevail nationwide causing danger zone heat index in 13 parts of the country according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Obet Badrina PAGASA weather specialist stated that “"Easterlies still affect our country. This will still bring hot weather while there is a chance of rain, lightning, and thunder or isolated rain showers and thunderstorms especially here in Eastern Visayas and Eastern Mindanao.”
According to PAGASA's two-day forecast, Dagupan City Pangasinan would have the highest heat index today (45 degrees Celsius). Areas in danger level are: NAIA Pasay City, Metro Manila: 42ºC, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte: 42ºC, Dagupan City, Pangasinan: 45ºC, Aparri, Cagayan: 43ºC, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan: 42ºC, ISU Echague, Isabela: 42ºC, Clark Airport (DMIA), Pampanga: 42ºC, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan: 44ºC, Aborlan, Palawan: 42ºC, Virac (Synop), Catanduanes: 42ºC, Masbate City, Masbate: 42ºC, Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur: 42ºC, and Cotabato City, Maguindanao: 42ºC.
Areas having a heat index of 42 to 51 degrees Celsius are classified as dangerous by PAGASA. Meanwhile, locations with a heat index of 27 to 32 degrees Celsius are classified as "Caution", 33 to 41 degrees Celsius as "Extreme Caution", and 52 degrees Celsius or more as "Extreme Danger".
Hotter temperatures are expected in the coming days as easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, continue to dominate over the country according to the state weather agency.
