HEAVY TRAFFIC ON MONDAY AFTER LONG HOLIDAY

As works resume this Monday April 1 2024, travelers and motorists also influx after a long vacation from the provinces. Number of passengers arriving in ports and terminal increases, Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) reached 1.2 million from March 22 to March 31, while Batangas port reached 96,000 of passengers this Holy Week.
The flood of motorists on North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) was also felt on Sunday. Heavy traffic on Metro Manila was once again seen on Monday.
Beside from the volume of vehicles on the road after the Holy Week, various road repairs along EDSA contributed to the congested lanes. On Commonwealth Avenue 10 lanes are occupied as traffic builds, seven lanes on the westbound side and three lanes on the eastbound side.
According to the MMDA, the two contractor that didn’t finish the road project along EDSA that cause heavy traffic will face a fine. The project should have been finished by early morning on Monday but only 24 of the 40 excavations have been completed, abandoned and covered with traffic cones.
Expect millions of people on the road after the four-day long Holy Week break from vacation or from work.
