GOVERNMENT OF TAGUIG CITY BAGS AWARDS FOR GROWTH AND REVENUE PERFORMANCE

The local government of Taguig City was recognized for its outstanding growth and performance in local revenue bagging multiple awards during the 37th Anniversary Stakeholders’ Recognition of the Department of Finance – Bureau of Local Government Finance (DOF-BLGF).
The city received the following awards: Third Place in Local Source Revenue Collections for Fiscal Years 2022 and 2023; Fourth Place in Yearly Growth of Local Source Revenues for Fiscal Year 2022; Fourth Place for the Ratio of Local Source Revenues to Total Current Operating Income for Fiscal Year 2022; and Fifth Place for the Ratio of Local Source Revenues to Total Current Operating Income for Fiscal Year 2023.
Highlighting the city’s effective management of business taxes, real property taxes, and other revenue streams, driving increased income that directly supports essential social services.
In 2023 Taguig also ranked third among the highest-earning local government units (LGUs) with a total revenue of P13.54 billion based on BLGF’s data. Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry also named the city of Taguig as one of the Top 5 Most Business-Friendly LGUs under the City Level 1A Category.
Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano in a statement, “Our success in local revenue collection is not just about numbers—it’s about turning those numbers into meaningful programs and services that improve the lives of every Taguigeño.”
“With the ongoing developments in ARCA South, the construction of the Metro Manila Subway, and the rapid expansion of the transportation system, the city of Taguig envisions a promising future, anticipating economic growth that will further enhance the quality of life for every Taguigeño,” she added.
