FIVE-YEAR RELATIONSHIP OF MARIS RACAL AND RICO BLANCO ENDED

On a five-year full of love, happiness, and music relationship between Kapamilya actress Maris Racal and singer-composer Rico Blanco, Maris announced during a Star Magic press conference that she and Rico have broken up.

Maris burst into tears during the conference that their break up was fresh and it has been a few weeks that she thought would never end. The actress then clarified that her on-screen partner Anthony Jennings was not involved in their break up.

"Rico and I, our universe is so beautiful. It was full of love, laughter and music and everything, spontaneity everything. In our five years together, we were always on the same page. Always on the same page. I don't know what happened to me. Maybe I turned to the next page, saw a new perspective in life,” Maris stated.

“I had a vision of who I want to become, how I want to evolve. So curious about the world, and the truth is I am going through changes and we know that changes either good or bad and what I hate about change is it's inevitable. You can't escape it and you have nothing else to do but to face it and confront it," she added.

According to the actress, it was a polite separation and was a very difficult talk because they love each other so much. She described that Rico is one of a kind and up to the very end of their relationship it was full of love and full of understanding. 

Unfortunately, Maris state that she has so many questions about her life and how will she go on with life with Rico. She has so many questions about herself and her sense of self that was so difficult.

The couple went public in 2021 which was admired by many for its creativity and mutual support sharing their collaborations and personal moments on social media. Maris is a longtime fan and admiring the Rivermaya singer. Posting on her social media account with manifestation tweets.

May 2021 when Maris and Rico confirmed their relationship, with a 25-year age gap between them. Maris started her career with Pinoy Big Brother in ABS-CBN while Rico was a former member of the iconic Filipino rock band Rivermaya.
