FISHING BOAT IN CEBU CAUGHT FIRE, 2 DEAD AND 3 WERE MISSING

A fishing boat neat the vicinity waters off Naga City in Cebu caught fire on Wednesday evening. According to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), eleven people were onboard where two crew members died while three others are still missing.
Authorities received a report of a fire onboard the FBCA King Bryan, the personnel's of Coast Guard Substation Naga immediately responded. Five individuals were rescued from the incident, while another crew member was found unconscious sustaining third degree burns.
According to Ensign Abel Lomboy, information officer of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in Central Visayas, they received the fire alarm at 8:25 p.m. It took them about an hour to put out the fire.
Other details of the incident including the point of origin of the fishing banca and the name of all 11 persons on board the fishing banca has not yet been released by the PCG information office. The incident is still under investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
The Special Operation Unit (SOU)-Central Visayas, Maritime Casualty Investigation Service -Central Visayas, and Coast Guard Medical Central Visayas have been directed to proceed to the area for assistance.
