FIRE BLAZES IN THE CITY OF BACOOR, 1 SENIOR CITIZEN DEAD

A massive fire engulfed in the residential area of Sitio Wawa in Barangay Zapote 3, Bacoor City in Cavite displacing around 600 family’s early morning on Wednesday. The flames of the fire can be seen from the Manila–Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX).
Firefighters, volunteers, firemen from neighboring municipalities, and residents work together to put the fire out and the affected residents evacuated their houses saving nothing but only their lives.
According to the Bacoor Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (BDRRMO), the fire was reported at 1:16 a.m. and was immediately raised to the second alarm at 1:21 a.m. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) declared the flames were under control around 2:50 a.m. and was fire out by 3:55 a.m.
600 houses and families were destroyed by fire and one senior citizen was reported killed due to suffocation while one had difficulty in breathing. The estimated worth of damage caused by the incident reached P500,000 according to the BFP.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated but according to some residents it started with a candle and in a wooden house in the area that quickly spread. Affected residents were brought to the evacuation centers to take temporary shelter.
