The last showdown between the Akari Chargers and the Creamline Cool Smashers in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference Finals has been rescheduled to Wednesday, September 4, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig which was originally scheduled for Monday, September 2, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
"Due to severe weather conditions caused by Tropical Storm 'Enteng,' the one-game finale between Akari and Creamline has been moved to Sept. 4. Our top priority is the safety of our players and fans." Sports Vision stated.
Meanwhile, the Premier Volleyball League recently junked the protest of PLDT High Speed Hitters concerning the no-fault on the net touch challenged that happened late in their semifinal loss to Akari at the Mall of Asia Arena last Saturday.
“The High Speed Hitters are in the business of inspiring the next generation of athletes who will one day play in the big leagues So the kids watching all this unfold, whatever adversity that comes along the way, please continue to fight. Because we will,” PLDT team stated.
“We are yet to know what this horrible experience is trying to teach us but one thing PLDT is proud of as a team is how we are one in fighting for the integrity not just of our team but the entire of Philippine volleyball,” it added.
As the new contenders to the Creamline Cool Smashers dynasty in the PVL, the Akari Chargers are attempting to make history in this all-pink finale of the import-spiced tournament. The Chargers, who entered the Finals with a perfect record, have a unique opportunity to not only win their first championship but also become members of unique champion club.
