EIGHT PDL’S ESCAPE FROM SJDM POLICE, 4 RE-ARRESTED

Eight persons deprived of liberty (PDL) escaped from the jail facility of San Jose Del Monte Police Station in Bulacan. According to the authorities, the inmates escaped through the window of the comfort room, the grills were sawn off.

“We discovered it when other PDLS called our attention. They asked for help from the custodial officer that was on duty,” Master Sergeant Rod Pating, lead investigator said.

“It happened around three in the morning. One of the detainees woke up and alerted the duty officer that the eight had already escaped,” he added.

The fugitives were locked up in cell four of the police station. One of them is in prison for theft, one for arson, while six are for illegal drug-related charges. The police officials are still investigating how the saw was smuggled inside.

The escaped PDL’s were caught on the CCTV in Barangay Poblacion 1, walking along the street of San Pedro on the said barangay. Two inmates were rushing to ride on a bus, while the four was seen riding a tricycle, and the two others just walk.

Manhunt operations are still on going for the four PDL’s that run away, as the four inmates were recaptured near the residence and at their houses. 

“Based on the information that we received from our operatives is that some have been arrested near their residence. The others were arrested at their houses,” Pating said.
