The easterlies and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) still exist in the country according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Cloudy skies with rain showers are expected in several parts of the country due to ITCZ, or the convergence of winds from the Northern Hemisphere to the Southern Hemisphere, easterlies, or winds flowing from the Pacific Ocean, and thunderstorms.
The Eastern part of Luzon and Southern Luzon was cloudy Saturday morning, as well as some parts of Eastern Visayas and Zamboanga Peninsula. On the afternoon, some parts of Luzon also have thunderstorms including Western and Central Visayas, as well as Northern Mindanao and Caraga.
In Metro Manila, Saturday morning is hot but it's getting cloudy, rain can fall at any time. Thunderstorm advisory are forecasted within Rizal, Zambales, Bulacan, Bataan, Pampanga, Batangas (Nasugbu), Cavite (Maragondon), Laguna (Cabuyao, Calamba, Los Banos, Bay, Calauan, Siniloan), and Quezon (Real, Mauban, Tagkawayan).
“The rest of the country, including the rest of Mindanao and the rest of Luzon, we can expect clearer weather. It will be hot and humid throughout the day, but there is still a high chance of thunderstorm activity in the late afternoon to evening,” the weather state bureau said.
Tomorrow, Sunday, it will rain almost all over Luzon, especially in Northern Luzon, even in Panay and Cebu, and it will also rain in Zamboanga Peninsula, Lanao provinces, and Cotabato.
Before entering the week, no typhoon is expected, there is a possible weak southwest wind from Thursday until the weekend so the so-called monsoon break will continue until Wednesday so there will still be humid weather until noon according to Pagasa.
