E-BIKE INCIDENT IN MARIKINA; MOTORCYLE COLLISION IN BATANGAS

On Barangay Malanday Marikina City, an old lady was hit by an e-bike vehicle while crossing the streets that causes the lady to lost her life. The victim was identified as Luzviminda Bisarez, and the 31-year old driver of e-bike was arrested by the police. The family of the victim filed a case of Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide. 

According to PLt. Fidel Draculan Jr., Officer-in-charge of traffic investigation in Marikina Police Station, the driver of e-bike was looking for the money on his pocket while driving and didn’t notice the old lady crossing that’s why it’s hit. The Barangay Malanday is studying for a resolution for the increasing numbers of e-vehicles in the area, safe speed should be implemented.  

On Lipa Batangas, a motorcyle crashed into a tricycle where the driver fell off and got hit by its own tricycle. According to Police Major El Cid Villanueva, Deputy Chief of Lipa City Police, the rider was under the influence of alcohol and wasn’t wearing a helmet.

"Based on our investigation, they both have shortcomings. The tricycle executed a turn without clearing the road, and the driver of the motorcycle, apart from being under the influence of liquor, he also did not have the appropriate documents and was not wearing a helmet."

Caught in the CCTV camera, it can be seen that the tricycle stopped on the side of the highway to pick up a passenger. After a while, he slowly moved forward and turned to cross the other side of the road, when suddenly the fast-moving motorcycle hit him.

Both drivers was rushed to the hospital that acquired severe injuries and still recovering.
