Tourists traveling to Dingalan, Aurora are now required to get an insurance before visiting the town. In an advisory released by the Dingalan Tourism Office, the town’s local government unit has passed a municipal ordinance requiring tourists to get insurance before exploring the town.

According to the Municipal Ordinance No. 266, Series of 2024 which covers all tourists and accommodation establishments in the town, the insurance requirement was passed "to provide financial assistance to tourists who would suffer disability and/or death while in the territorial jurisdiction of Dingalan."

The tourism office noted that tourists and visitors must avail the insurance at any LGU-registered or accredited insurance provider or purveyor. Tourists must present documents such as copy of the policy or receipt of the insurance coverage payment from the insurance provider.

While for accommodation establishments, must present their memorandum of agreement with an insurance provider.

Travelers who do not follow the ordinance and will not comply with the required insurance will not be allowed to tour Dingalan, based on the advisory. Tourism establishments that violate the ordinance will be penalized with fines, suspension of their permits, or cancellation of their permits.

The tourism office clarified that the insurance will be acquired from others as long as it is Dingalan based or LGU registered because it is not LGU provided. “We can also talk to the insurance company to cater to your needs when it comes to insurance.”

Such insurance is meant for tourists “who would suffer disability and/or death while in the territorial jurisdiction of Dingalan.”

Dingalan, Aurora has always been a popular tourist spot due to its beautiful waterfalls, caves, beaches, and more.
