“We are now entering the rainy season. The more that we advocate for our 4S strategy in our barangays. As early as now, we started our advocacy at the barangay level to search and destroy (mosquito) breeding places,” center’s program medical coordinator said.

“Community cooperation is vital in preventing the spread of dengue. Simple measures like cleaning up our surroundings can make a significant difference,” it emphasized.
The DOH is urging the public tot intensify their efforts in following the 5S strategy in response to the alarming case: Search and destroy mosquito breeding sites; Secure self-protection measures such as insect repellent and proper clothing; Seek early consultation for any signs of dengue; Support fogging or spraying activities; Sustain adequate hydration to prevent complications from dengue.
Children are particularly at risk, especially those aged 1 to 13 years, who are more likely to be bitten by mosquitoes. With the new school year approaching, Dr. Natalaray advised that schools should be thoroughly cleaned to ensure a healthy and safe learning environment.
DOH Secretary Teodoro Herbosa said that, “Dengue is seasonal. We may have low case counts now, but if we relax, they will go up more than we want. Keep killing mosquitoes and stop them from biting you and your loved ones. Let’s keep Dengue down!”
