The state weather bureau reported on Friday that no typhoon is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility in the next few days, but cloudy skies with rain showers can be experience brought by northeasterly windflow.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), different parts of the country may still experience cloudy skies and rains due to the northeasterly wind flow and localized thunderstorms.
On Friday, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Aurora may see overcast skies with rains caused by the northeasterly wind flow. With the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
While Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur during severe thunderstorms.
Luzon and the rest of Visayas will have light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to east direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
Light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to northwest direction with slight to moderate coastal waters will prevail in the eastern section of Visayas.
Mindanao will have light to moderate wind speed moving in the south to southeast direction.
“Meanwhile, based on our latest satellite animation, we are not expecting any typhoon to enter the Philippine area of responsibility in the next few days,” Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said.
“But we are continuing our monitoring for possible formations of shallow circulation or weak low-pressure areas in the eastern part of the country, and these are not expected to develop into typhoons at the moment,” he added.
