President Marcos Jr. is very proud in Filipino foods, it is said that the taste of Pinoy cuisine will attract more tourists to visit the country. Chibog Tourism is the focus of President Bongbong Marcos' latest vlog.
Especially this summer, it's good to go on a food trip, "A food trip is the twin of refreshments, it's good to drink something cold and then eat something good," President Marcos Jr. said on his vlog.
Pinoy food can really make the world proud. In the experiential travel guide TasteAtlas, Filipino Cuisines are 33 in the 100 Best Cuisines in the World. Sinigang is among the best rated food in the country.
"Gastronomic tourism is called because food really brings tourists. Food is not just in the stomach, it also feeds the soul. When you take away the ones that haven't been eaten, wrap them up so they have a take home, that's the Filipino habit," President Bongbong said.
Among the priorities of the Department of Tourism (DOT) is food tourism because it helps small businesses. So even though Filipino Food Month is over this April, the DOT still encourages the public to visit the "Eatsperience Philippines Hub" in Luneta and Intramuros.
It features the proud food of several regions and provinces such as pakbet and igado of Ilocos, bicol express, sisig kampangan, and many others. There will be more than 20 stalls located in Intramuros that feature different foods known in the provinces and regions from dishes, food, and snacks.
The DOT insists that they show more of the rich culture of the Philippines, "As many islands as we have in the Philippines, we have as many different kinds of food. Food is part of who we are as Filipinos. It is not just only to take away the hunger, but it is our identity and will be our trademark as Filipinos all over the world."
"Let's continue to support our local foods and products. Let's support our MSMEs. For OFWs, let's have our foreign friends try Filipino food. Then let's invite them here in the Philippines," President Marcos said.
