CASHLESS PAYMENT IN BACOOR, PALENGQR

Bacooreños can now use PalengQR or a cashless transaction payment method in markets and even public utility vehicles (PUV). Bacooreños will no longer have trouble paying for their purchases, after the launch of PalengQR in Bacoor City, Cavite. 

With this, residents can pay thru GCash using just a cellphone. According to the Bacoor Local Government Unit, apart from buying in the market, it can also be used as fare in public transport.

“Because digital payments can save us more time, energy, and resources, and not mention it’s safer and we don’t need to carry money when we leave the house,” Bacoor City Vice Mayor Rowena Bautista-Mendiola said.

According to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas or BSP, with the frequent use of digital transactions, our compatriots also have the opportunity to get loans with low interest.

BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat stated, “As you use e-wallet payments, you create a financial footprint. And if you have a financial footprint, it will help you get a low interest loan with no collateral. So, these are some benefits of cashless payments aside from not having to change money, you can deposit while at the market stall.”

Through this, the BSP and Bacoor City LGU hope that it will provide relief and also prevent the spread of various dangerous diseases such as CoVid-19.
