CANCELLED FLIGHTS AND SUSPENDED SEA TRIPS DUE TO “AGHON”

Tropical Depression “Aghon” continues to intensify bringing heavy rains and strong winds in some parts of the country with 20 areas under Signal No. 1 according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Due to the bad weather condition, several air flights and sea trips were cancelled and suspended by the authorities.
The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) announced the cancellation of flights travelling to CEBGO: DG 6113/6114: Manila – Naga – Manila, DG 6839/6840: Manila – Siargao – Manila, DG 6881/6882: Manila – Surigao – Manila, DG 6117/6118: Manila – Naga – Manila, and DG 6177/6178: Manila – Masbate – Manila.
For PAL Express: 2P 2981/2982 Manila-Tacloban-Manila and 2P 2671/2672 Manila-Calbayog-Manila. Cebu Pacific: (5J) 5J 821/822: Manila – Virac – Manila. AirSWIFT: T6 710/711: Manila – Romblon – Manila.
The operation of ships in Aghon-affected provinces are suspended. As per the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), six passenger vessel voyages from Masbate to the provinces of Samar, Cebu, and Albay were canceled.
All ship and banca movement is prohibited in Western Samar, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Southern Leyte, Western Leyte, Eastern Leyte, and Biliran in the Visayas, according to the individual PCG stations.
"As of last night, we have around 600 individuals who were stranded in various ports of Eastern Visayas, and a small number of rolling cargoes which were also stranded," Office of Civil Defense - Region 8 Director Lord Byron Torrecarion said.
Sea travel was also forbidden in Mindanao in the regions under the jurisdiction of the PCG stations in Bucas Grande, Surigao del Norte, and Dinagat Islands.
