ANOTHER LONG WEEKEND? APRIL 10 REGULAR HOLIDAY

The public awaits for another long weekend ahead after President Marcos declared April 10, 2024 as a regular holiday throughout the Philippines for the observance of the Islamic Eid’l Fitr or the Feast of Ramadhan.
On Proclamation No. 514 released by the Malacañang Palace states that “In order to bring the religious and cultural significance of the Eid’l Fitr to the fore of national consciousness, and to allow the entire Filipino nation to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in peace and harmony in the observance and celebration of Eid’l Fitr, it is necessary to declare Wednesday, 10 April 2024, a regular holiday throughout the country.”
The declaration was officially signed by Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., President of the Philippines. On Official Gazette’s released list of Nationwide Holidays for 2024, the “Araw ng Kagitingan” or the Day of Valor is on April 9 Tuesday.
On social media platforms netizens joke out Monday April 13 as an opportunity to file a leave to enjoy the long weekend from Saturday to Wednesday.
