AFTERMATH OF TYPHOON ENTENG, 13 CONFIRMED DEATHS

A total of 13 individuals were confirmed dead due to the impact of Tropical Storm Enteng. Eight of the fatalities were reported in Rizal, three in Bicol, and two in Cebu province according to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD).
In Antipolo, at least 7 people died from landslides and drowning, four were reported missing after a landslide and flash flood swept them away, authorities are confirming the deaths.
"There are two reported deaths in Cebu. This was due to the walls that collapsed on a house. We are also validating with our regional office in Bicol three reported fatalities. In Calabarzon, particularly in Rizal, we are validating eight reported fatalities. Most of them are in Antipolo,"
Meanwhile, on the report of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), Enteng has affected 37,867 families or 147,024 individuals in the areas of Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, and the National Capital Region.
Bicol region is the hardest hit, having 22,220 affected families or more than 85,000 individuals and two bridges in the Bicol region are obstructed. In Naga City Camarines Sur, P12 million worth was damaged to the agricultural sector.
According to the Department of Agriculture (DA), around P350.85 million was loss in the country’s agriculture sector. The volume of production loss was estimated at 14,814 metric tons spanning 8,893 hectares; Corn (P14.01 million) and high-value crops (P3.76 million) incurred losses, affecting 3,623 farmers and fishers.
Of the damage to infrastructure, 17 houses were damaged, 9 totally and eight partially. Worth P200,000 of damage has been reported in Bicol so far. Assistance worth P9,017,063 has been provided to the victims so far, according to the NDRRMC.
State weather agency Pag-asa said in a bulletin that the Severe Tropical Storm Enteng has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 4 am on Wednesday, September 4, but it continues to enhance the southwest monsoon or habagat.
