The Manibela group clarified that they are not against the PUV modernization program, they are in favor of beautifying and repairing the vehicles however, the franchises of their units should still remain in their possession. The group asked for public understanding on the transport strike to be carried out.
Some transport groups have already said that they will not participate in the upcoming strike.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) assured that they have free rides ready but only for commuters who have difficulty finding a ride.
MMDA Chairman said, "We will not discriminate in the dispatch of free rides because we also do not want to grab those groups who will not come because they will lose their income."
