On April 29 Monday evening, a bus with passengers on it collided into a UV express van, taxi and motorcycle along Fairlane Commonwealth Avenue on Quezon City. 17 individuals were reportedly injured while three were dead, the two people were brought to the hospital but still didn’t make it and the motorcycle rider was dead on the spot after getting stuck under the bus.

According to the bus driver, the brake is still working when they were on North Fairview, but when they reach Commonwealth Avenue, there’s an iron sticking out of the brake. The red light was on the stoplight, and the brake doesn’t work anymore no matter he tries and that’s when the bus first hit the motorcycle and the UV express.

The bus was traveling from Sapang Palay on San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan to Quezon Avenue when the brake had the problem while on Fairlane Commonwealth Avenue.

“From the left lane, going right to the stoplight of Fairlane, he said that the iron was sticking out from the brake pad, so the break couldn’t be controlled anymore,” the bus conductor stated.

The QCPD Traffic Sector 5 state that the UV express has passengers on it, where two were dead and the eight others were injured. And a motorcycle had a minor injury when he got hit bus the bus.

"The bus reached me, I splashed, I was dragged. The nmax blocked the front of the bus so I wasn’t under it. But my companion in the nmax was under the bus, and the sniper, that's the one hit by the bus and get to the bottom. It's just a scratch and the hip hurts," the motorcycle said.

"We were stopped at the Fairlane at the stoplight. After a while, the bus behind me started speeding. It crashed into the back on the right of the van. There were ten of us in the van, all of them were wounded. A child in the back said to help his mom get out of the car, because it's the back that can't be opened because the one on the right is bent," driver of the crashed UV Express stated.

The bus driver express his apologies and said that it wasn’t his intention and it was an accident. The driver will face reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide, multiple injuries, and damage to property while being held at QCPD Traffic Sector 5.
