A day before South Korean girl group 2NE1 much-awaited comeback concert in the Philippines, the group arrived in the country on Thursday and were welcomed by their Filo Blackjacks at the airport.
CL, Park Bom, Sandara Park, and Minzy are in the country for a two-night concert as part of their reunion and comeback tour, "Welcome Back" which is happening on November 16 and 17 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
YG Entertainment first announced 2NE1’s comeback in July. The group kicked off the tour in Seoul, South Korea in October.
2NE1 member Dara Park opened up about the excitement building up for their two-night sold-out show, “Hindi ko ma-express in words kasi iba talaga para sa akin ang concert na ito. Babalik kami after 10 years, kasama ko ang 2NE1, dream come true para sa akin.”
(I can't express it in words because this concert is really different for me. We are coming back after 10 years, 2NE1 is with me, dream come true for me.)
Before arriving, CL posted Instagram Stories with the girls with a clip saying that they are on the way to Manila, and a selfie on the plane. Sandara also tweeted, “The girls are excited for Filipino food already.”
Park noted that months back she performed at the Mall of Asia Arena as part of a music festival, but this time it’s more special. “Ngayon kami lang, it’s our concert and kasama namin ang mga Blackjacks so grabe talaga, Iba talaga ang excitement ko,” she said, referring to 2NE1’s fans.
“Iba talaga ang feeling pag nagme-message ako sa mga fans. Mahal na mahal ko kayong lahat. Alam ninyo naman na Philippines is my second home. This is 2NE1’s second home. We can’t wait to go back to our second home and meet all of you!”
