2024 LRT-1 CAVITE EXTENSION OPERATION

The construction of phase one of LRT-1 Cavite extension project is nearing completion based on the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LMRC) update.
The construction of phase one of the LRT-1 extension is 97 percent complete. LRMC is confident that this project will be completed on time.

The LRT-1 Cavite extension is targeted to be operational in the fourth quarter of this year or by year-end. The five stations for the phase one are: Redemptorist Station, Manila International Airport Station, Asia World Station, Ninoy Aquino Station, and Dr. Santos Station.
While the phase two extension are stations of Las Piñas and Zapote, the third phase is the Niog station.
So far, the stairs in the stations have been completed and the telecommunication installation has also been completed and the system works are also working well. While steel works and drainage works are still being completed at some stations.
The LRMC is also conducting test runs of different generations of trains to test the tracks.
LMRC president and chief executive officer Juan Alfonso said that, “we feel optimistic by the progress made in the LRT-1 Cavite extension phase 1 project. This huge milestone is a testament to the patience and passion of our team and our contractors, all working together to bring this project to life, linking countless residents in the south of Metro Manila and nearby provinces.”
