Kung saan ‘yung isang classmate nila ay dito lang nakatira sa Sitio Paopawan, more or less nasa two kilometers itong Sitio Paopawan sa Ungga Falls," Police Major Robert Papa of Baras Municipal Police Station said.
“The other two were not rescued. All they did was ask for help. Unfortunately, all four of these students do not know how to swim at all,” he added.
The two victims were aged 17 and 18 years old, are expected to graduate from senior high school three months from now. Both declared dead on arrival in the hospital, it took hours before the rescuers were able to retrieve their bodies due to the strong current.

“It pains me that he is no longer with us. But he still decided to save someone even though it will also put him in danger. I’m proud of him even though it hurts us. It would have been better if he was able to save both of them,” said Pedro Pacion.
